World Environment Day 2019 programme at ICAR KVK Hirehalli on 6th June 2019
Theme: Greening The Blue. “Beat Air Pollution”.
World Environment Day Programme at KVK Hirehalli started with National Anthem followed by invocation song by Kumari Shruthi. During the day Sri Nagendra TC gave a lecture on Theme of World Environment Day along with his team members. Chief Guest renowned Chemistry Professor Dr.Krishnamurthy CV, Sarvodaya College Tumakuru. Special Invitees Lieutenant Pradeep Kumar NCC , Havaldar Chethan Rai from Indian Army. (Bhavalaya NGO Supported in organising students) Tree planting along with college students and KVK Team.
K.N.Jagadish extended a warm welcome to the gathering at a function that was organized before the mass tree planting programme. Dr. A.K. Tripati Director ICAR ATARI Guwahati Zone VI participated in the programme, shared his experience on the eve of World Environment Day, and emphasized that trees are important for bringing rains and hence, mass tree planting is essential. He urged to save the trees, which are planted during the mass tree planting programmes.
This programme was followed by tree planting at instructional farm, wherein students (more than 100) of college, newly married couple, farmers and staff members of ICAR-KVK Hirehalli planted tree saplings.
