Subject Matter Specialists of KVK, Hirehalli conducted Training programme on Improved technologies in horticultural crops held on 10.08.2017 in collaboration with DATC Chikkanahalli at Sira Taluk.
Shri. Prashanth J,M., Subject Matter Specialist delivered lecture on improved horticultural crops viz., Coconut and Arecanut. He stressed the importance of application of organiz manure rather than inorganic fertilizers. He has advised the farmers to follow the package of practises prescribed for this region.
Dr.B.Hanumanthe Gowda, Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) delivered a lecture on integrated pest and disease management in coconut and arecanut. He delivered the lecture on symptoms, etiology and management of diseases in coconut and arecanut. He also demonstrated the preparation Bordeaux mixure and stressed the importance and use of Bordeaux mixure in coconut for prevention of diseases.
33 farmers were benefitted from this programme.
