Sponsored training on cultivation and utilization of commercially important Medicinal plants was conducted on 23rd February 2021 at ICAR-KVK, Hirehalli. Before starting technical session, field visit to medicinal plants grower farm was arranged for the participants near Hirehalli village. There Dr. Hanumegowda (Ayurvedic doctor) explained about different medicinal plants grown and their health benefits. Later training programme was inaugurated at KVK, Hirehalli. MrJagadish.K.N, SMS-Agricultural Extension welcomed all resource persons and participants from DHAN foundation. Dr. N.Loganandhan, principal Scientist and Head, ICAR-KVK, Hirehalli explained about the importance of medicinal plants and suggested to make use of medicnal plants around us. DrG.smitha, scientist, IIHR, Bengaluru delivered lecture on scope and importance of medicinal and aromatic plants. Dr.Rohini, Scientist, IIHR, bengaluru explained about cultivation of common medicinal herbs in backyard and terrace garden. Dr. PushpaChethan Kumar, Scientist, IIHR, Bengaluru explained about Value added products from medicinal plants. This programme was co-ordinated byMrsRadhaR.Banakar, SMS-Home Science, KVK, Hrehalli. 30 womens from DHAN foundation were attended this programme.
