BAKAHU Preparation and Value Addition

On-campus training programme on preparation and value addition of BAKAHU (Bale Kai Hudi-Raw banana powder) was conducted on 20th November 2021 at ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hirehalli, Tumakuru II. Dr.Loganandhan.N, Head, explained about the importance of BAKAHU flour as a nutritional supplement and the innovative approach with which this is being promoted by the entrepreneur. Mrs.Radha R.Banakar SMS (Home Science) gave a lecture on usage of BAKAHU. Later, Smt. Nayana Anand, resource person from Attikatte village of Gubbi taluk shared her experience with promotion of BAKAHU, her support from Shri. Shree Padre of Adike Patrike, who sparked the momentum in this regard. She also demonstrated preparation of many value added products to the trainees. The easy process of converting raw Banana of any variety into flour, without any fancy equipment or heavy investment except a drier, attracted many women in the group. Later, the participants, about 38 in number, from NGO DHAN Foundation, Tumakuru, tried their hand in preparing different delicacies out of BAKAHU.
