KVK Organised Mass Tree Planting and Kisan Goshti on 17th September 2019
ICAR – Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hirehalli Tumakuru and the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) organised tree plantation campaigns and Kisan Goshti on 17 September 2019 under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
More than 500 saplings were planted by ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Hirehalli Tumakuru in collaboration with Bhavalya Trust Tumakuru and IFFCO. Plantation was included plants like mixed forest trees, fruit trees, fodder crops etc.,
On this occasion, KVK organized a farmers’ seminar to create awareness among farmers. Lectures was given by experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendras on the role of plantation, soil health and water conservation in the environment and strategies for increasing production and productivity of rabi crops.
15 farmers and 12 School children participated during the programme in presence of Bhavalysa Trust Members and School Teachers along with farmers.
During the day, Mr. Lakhsmisha Field Officer IFFCO briefed about the neem coated urea and its importance.
