International Honeybee day at KVK Hirehalli
Training and awareness programme on honey bee was conducted on the occasion of International Honey bee day on 19th August 2017 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hirehalli. In this programme Mr.Nagandra T.C and his staff from Swadheshi Samooha of Tumakuru participated and gave hands on training on Bee keeping, Honey harvesting and other aspects of Honey bees. During the programme he also emphasized about the role of Honeybees in seed setting in Agriculture, horticulture, Forest species, etc. He also informed gathering that bee keeping is one such technology which can increase the income levels of the farmer’s without affecting the ecology.
Dr.N.Loganandhan , Head and Sr. Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hirehalli, spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of Honey bees on the Food security and also maintaining the Environmental diversity through the Pollination process. This programme was attended by more than 70 farmers of Tumakuru District. Dr.Somashekhar, SMS (Plant Breeding) welcomed the trainees and other invitees. This Programme was attended by Mr.Ramesh P.R, Dr.Hanumanthegowda, Mr.Prashanth J M and Mr.K.N.Shashidhar and other staff of KVK. Ms.Radha Banakar, SMS (Home Science) Coordinated this programme and proposed the vote of Thanks.
