Field Day on Use of AMC in Pomegranate by KVK Hirehalli on 28th September 2019
A Field Day on Use of Arka Microbial Consortium (AMC) in Pomegranate was organized by ICAR-IIHR Bengaluru in collaboration with KVK, Hirehalli, Tumakuru, ARS Rajavanthi and Ramakrishna Math, Venkatapura on 28.09.2019 at Shri. Sreenivasa Reddy’s Pomegranate field. Field day was inaugurated by Sri Shivaparasad, Member , IMC, IIHR, Bengaluru and presided over by Dr. Shivashankar, In-charge Director, IIHR, Bengaluru. Sri Shivaprasad addressed about the importance of using organic manures in crop production. Dr Shivashankar asked the farmers to implement technologies developed by IIHR for better yield and income. He also explained various facilities available at IIHR. Dr Narayanasamy, Pr.Scientist IIHR explained about the Tribal sub plan related activities, proposed to be taken in the region. Field day was conducted in presence of His Holiness Sri. Swamy Mahavakyananda Maharaj, Ramakrishna Matha, Basavanagudi. The function was chaired by Sri. Swamy Shivatmananda Maharaj, Ramakrishna Math, Venkatapura. Mr. J.M.Prashanth, SMS, Horticulture, KVK Hirehalli, Tumakuru and Mr. Jahir Pasha, Assistant Professor, ARS, Rajavanthi spoke in the technical sessions. Smt. Gayatribayi, ZP member, Venkatapura, Dr. M.Raghupati, Head and PI, Soil Science, IIHR, Dr. Selva Kumar, Principal Scientist, IIHR, Dr. Loganandhan.N , Principal Scientist and Head, KVK, Hirehalli, Tumakuru, Mr. Ramesh.P.R, SMS, Soil Science and Dr. Hanumathegowda, SMS, Plant Pathology, KVK, Hirehalli, Tumakuru, Sri Sudhakar, ADH, Pavagada were present during the occasion. Over 300 farmers participated in the event. There was also an interaction session organised between scientists and farmers.
