A field day on demonstration of K-6 ground nut variety at H B Halli of Pavagada taluk on 22nd November 2019
A field day was organized on demonstration of K-6 ground nut variety implemented under National Food Security Mission (NFSM) at H B Halli of Pavagada taluk on 22nd November 2019. K-6 ground nut variety is a drought tolerant and high yielding variety. It was inaugurated by Mr. Earanna, President – Nayigunte grama panchayat, Pavagada taluk and addressed the farmers. He appreciated the efforts made by KVK Hirehalli in replacing the age old variety TMV-2 existed from last 50 years. He also emphasized the need of conserving the moisture in the soil. He urge the farmers to use the seeds obtained from the demonstration plots to next season. Dr. Loganandhan, explained in details about the facilities available at KVK and requested the people to make use of the same for better production of the crop. He explained about the objective of the demonstration and urge the people to spread the variety K-6 to larger area. Dr.B.Hanumanthe Gowda, explained in detail about the improved cultivation aspects of ground nut. Dr.J.M.Prashanth, explained about the possibilities of flower crop cultivation for higher income. Mr.Govinda Raju, President – Lingadahalli farmers producer organization was participated chief guest in the programme. Local taluk panchayath members and gram panchayath members were also present in the programme. 150 farmers were participated in the programme.
