Graduation Day Ceremony of Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) Held at ICAR-KVK, Hirehalli on 20th Sept. 2024.
The Graduation Day for the Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 20th September 2024 at ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Hirehalli, Tumakuru. The event marked the successful completion of the one-year diploma course for the fifth batch of participants, a program aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of agricultural input dealers to better serve the farming community.
Dr. Loganandhan N., Principal Scientist and Head of ICAR-KVK, Hirehalli, offered his heartfelt congratulations to the fifth batch of DAESI graduates. In his introductory remarks, Dr. Loganandhan emphasized the importance of such programs in bridging the gap between farmers and scientists. He stated that the DAESI program equips input dealers with the skills to act as Krishi Information Centres rather than just suppliers of agricultural inputs, significantly enhancing their role in rural areas. He also noted that with this diploma, the responsibility of serving farmers would grow, as they become essential contributors to agricultural extension efforts.
Dr. R. Narayana Reddy, DAESI – SAMETI, Bengaluru, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the official Diploma certificates, issued by the National Institute for Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. In his address, Dr. Reddy congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to continue working closely with farmers, urging them to apply the knowledge gained to uplift the agricultural sector. He emphasized that their work would not only benefit farmers but also bring pride to the institute that trained them.
The event also featured Dr. H.L.Chandrakumar, Deputy Director of Agriculture (DDA), Tumakuru district, as the Guest of Honour. He congratulated the DAESI graduates and highlighted the critical role they now play as ambassadors of agricultural knowledge and extension services in their communities. Shri. K.N. Jagadish, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS), emphasized the importance of technology transfer in agriculture and how it can boost farmers’ incomes. He encouraged the DAESI diploma holders to go a step further by acquiring technology licenses from research institutes, which would enable them to become agri-entrepreneurs and directly benefit the farming community.
The top performers of the diploma course were also recognized and awarded during the ceremony: Shri. Shankar L.J. – 1st Rank Gold Certificate, Shri. Ravindara E.L. – 2nd Rank Silver Certificate and Shri. Nagaraju P – 3rd Rank Bronze Certificate.
A special Oath-taking ceremony was conducted, where all the graduates pledged to serve the farming community with dedication and integrity.
The event commenced with the Raitha Geete, setting a patriotic tone for the day’s proceedings.
The program was facilitated by Shri. S.C. Chandraiah, Retired Assistant Director of Agriculture, Hiriyur, and Shri Ramesh P.R., SMS Soil Science, Nodal Officer, DASEI Fifth Batch who played a key role in guiding the participants through their learning journey. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Shri Ramesh P.R., SMS Soil Science, Nodal Officer, DASEI Fifth Batch followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Somashekar, SMS, Plant Breeding.
The Graduation Day was made even more special by the participation of all KVK staff members, including Prasanth J.M., Radha R. Banakar, and Shashidhar, alongside Shri Rajashekariah, Retired Agriculture Officer, Tumakuru. Their support and presence contributed to the success of the event.
The program concluded with the National Anthem, bringing an inspiring and patriotic close to the memorable event.
